Marriages beyond Waters Upton

Abstracted marriage register entries and/or newspaper notices/reports of marriages, in places beyond Waters Upton, from 1609 to 1938.

Date Index 🡓.

Many Waters Upton folk married in other parishes. Abstracts of the marriage records I have been able to find, mostly in Shropshire, which specified that one or both parties were of Waters Upton (or Upton Parva), can be found below. In addition, I have added register entries for which newspaper marriage notices or reports indicate a connection with Waters Upton, or (where I cannot view copies of the register) abstracts of those newspaper items (sources for all marriages not abstracted from parish registers are specified).

All places below are in Shropshire except where otherwise stated, and in the case of marriages from 1750 taken from parish registers, all parties including witnesses signed the register unless indicated by (X) after their names.

Abbreviations: B. = bachelor; Lic. = licence; p. = parish; S. = spinster; Wid. = Widow or Widower; Wit./Wits = witness/witnesses; (X) = made their mark.
