Directories etc

Historical directories, gazetteers etc covering Shropshire provide descriptions of Waters Upton, and (in the case of directories) listings of key private residents and tradespeople living in the parish. This brief entry for the parish appeared on page 661 of The Shropshire Gazetteer, published 1824:

Upton Parva; or Waters Upton. A parish in the Wellington division of the hundred of Bradford, South, a rectory discharged, in the diocese of Coventry and Lichfield, the deanery of Newport, and archdeaconry of Salop. 31 houses, 165 inhabitants. 7 miles west of Newport.
