Waters Upton MIs - Jones, Joseph and Jane

The 1881 and 1891 census returns show Joseph Jones, a farm waggoner born about 1832 at Weston in the parish of Baschurch, and wife Jane Jones, born about 1831 (give or take a year or so either way) at Dunsheath (nowadays Dunnsheath, a tiny settlement just north of Leaton Knolls on the road from Shrewsbury to Baschurch).

An Ancestry member’s family tree indicates that Joseph Jones married Jane Evans at Shrewsbury on 4 Oct 1852, making Jane the daughter of Griffith Evans, a labourer who was living with his family in the township of Leaton in the parish of Shrewsbury St Mary (which then extended a long way north-westwards out of Shrewsbury).
