Waters Upton memorial inscriptions: PASCALL

SARAH PASCALL
of Waters Upton,
who died Dec. 1st 1882,
aged 87 years.

Sarah was baptised at Waters Upton on 20 Dec 1795, daughter of William and Sarah “Pescal.” Census records show that she was “deaf and dumb” and that she lived with either her sister and brother-in-law Mary and Robert Woolley (both of whom are also buried at Waters Upton) or her brother Thomas Pascall. That was the case up to 1871, when Sarah was living with her sister Mary (by then a widow); the 1881 census showed Sarah living alone at Waters Upton, Mary having passed away in 1876.
