Waters Upton MIs- Fisk, Annie and Thomas

Annie Waring, born around 1836 at Ludlow, Shropshire had married Thomas Fisk in or just before 1865 (their marriage being registered at Farnborough in the March quarter of that year). In 1871 the couple were living in Dover where Thomas, 32 and born in Upminster, Essex, was a confectioner employing two men and two boys. Living with them were their children (including one year old Ernest J Fisk), Annie’s widowed mother Mary Waring (aged 62, born in Birmingham), and Thomas’s sister Mary Fisk. By 1891 Thomas, Mary and their Dover-born children were living at Southampton where Thomas was a licensed victualler. The 1911 census shows the couple’s son Ernest James Fisk living with his wife and children at Waters Upton Hall, which no doubt accounts for his parents being buried at the parish church.
